  • About Pete

    Pete Zich heads Dugan + Lopatka’s Tax Department and is the managing principal of the firm. In his tax role, Pete focuses on tax planning and consulting for corporations, LLCs, partnerships, S corporations and Individuals. His typical services include advising our clients on minimizing their taxes on an annual basis; working with clients throughout the year to plan for cashflow requirements as necessitated by federal and state income taxes; and, analyzing the tax impact of a client’s business decisions.

    Pete assists clients in a wide variety of industries with structuring business acquisitions, ownership transfers and how best to retain key employees. He also is part of the team that consults with clients regarding their state tax filings and the related exposure and opportunities regarding state compliance. Pete works to increase communications with clients to eliminate the potential for unanticipated tax obligations. Ongoing communications with clients is key to developing and analyzing alternative strategies.

  • PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

    Pete is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts (AICPA) and the Illinois CPA Society. Since 1995 he has been a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), but currently is on inactive status.

  • COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

    Since 2015 Pete has been the treasurer and member of the board of directors of SCAD Research Inc., which is dedicated to raising funds to support Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) research and to bring awareness, dissemination of knowledge and research findings to patients with SCAD.

    Pete also serves the community as a volunteer at local animal shelters. He previously served as the treasurer at The Family School.

    Pete is married with two daughters and always makes sure that his family comes first in his life. He is an avid tennis player and enjoys photography. He also loves rooting for the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team.
